Author Leigh Bardugo Found Strength in Her Disability Through Writing

Author Leigh Bardugo understands the power that mirrors and windows in books can give readers of all ages to see themselves and others more deeply. She did not realize she was doing that for herself until she finished her first draft of her Six of Crows duology. Her character, Kaz Brekker, falls and becomes disabled; she says writing Kaz gave her a different kind of swagger when she walked outside with her cane.
