The American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education is a national alliance of educator preparation programs dedicated to the highest quality professional development of teachers and school leaders in order to enhance PK-12 student learning. AACTE’s reach and influence fuel its mission of serving learners by providing all school personnel with superior training and continuing education. AACTE employs three key strategies to achieve its goals: advocacy, leadership, and service.
The AFT was founded in 1916 to represent the economic, social and professional interests of classroom teachers. It is an affiliated international union of the AFL-CIO. NASP represents school psychology and supports school psychologists to enhance the learning and mental health of all children and youth.
In existence since 1916, the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) is the preeminent organization of and national voice for middle level and high school principals, assistant principals, and aspiring school leaders from across the United States and more than 45 countries around the world. The National Children’s Book and Literacy Alliance is a not-for-profit literacy organization created in 1997 by award-winning children’s book authors and illustrators with the goal of making issues related to young people’s literacy, literature, and libraries an ongoing priority on our national agenda. They act as a freelance, nonpartisan advocate, creating and developing special projects and events that promote literacy, literature, libraries, and the arts; educating the public about practical literacy and education solutions; and ensuring young people’s right to read.

The News Media Alliance was founded in 1992 through a merger of seven associations serving the newspaper industry and was originally known as the Newspaper Association of America (NAA). Their work focuses on the key challenges and opportunities of today’s news environment: Freedom of the press, public policy and legal matters, advertising growth, new revenue streams and audience development across all platforms. The News Media Alliance works with members, as well as other partner organizations, to advance the industry through advocacy, critical research and resources and events that connect and inspire.
RIF is the oldest and largest children’s and family nonprofit literacy organization in the United States. Through community volunteers in every state and U.S. territory, RIF provides 4.5 million children with 16 million new, free books and literacy resources each year. All RIF programs combine three essential elements to foster children’s literacy: reading motivation, family and community involvement, and the excitement of choosing free books to keep.
Reading With Pictures is a nonprofit organization that advocates the use of comics in the classroom to promote literacy and improve educational outcomes for all students. They work with academics to cultivate groundbreaking research into the proper role of comics in education. They collaborate with cartoonists to produce exceptional graphic novel content for scholastic use. Most importantly, they partner with educators to develop a system of best practices for integrating comics into their curriculum.
The Young Adult Library Services Association’s (YALSA) mission is to advocate, promote and strenghten library services to young adults. For over 50 years YALSA has been the world leader in selecting recommended reading, listening and viewing for teens. Youth Service America (YSA) is a national nonprofit resource center that partners with thousands of organizations committed to increasing the quality and quantity of volunteer opportunities for young people, ages 5-25, to serve locally, nationally, and globally.
