High-Stakes Assessment
High stakes assessments determine important outcomes (such as graduating from high schoo) for an individual student. High stakes tests differ from tests given by schools to meet the requirements under No Child Left Behind. Those tests hold states and districts accountable for porr student performane, but do not require statea to impose personal accountability on students.
