Author Judy Blume still remembers—and can sing—the ballads she wrote in a high school English class. Her beloved teacher encouraged his class to be creative,reveling along with them as they discovered new authors, and new landscapes of literature. Along with having them write these ballads, he kept a long list of books for them to read, books the author says are still some of the seminal classics she read.
